Productivity Mapping: Go With The Flow!
I'm working with a client who is launching a business as a creative entrepreneur. The idea of routine and structure scares him....no, it terrifies him.
His fear of routine shifted to BIG MOTIVATION when he saw he could make a healthy salary, with little overhead costs, on a part-time schedule. This allowed him to live out his other priorities, which are his family and community service.
So where do we start? The journey to become a solo-entrepreneur starts with planning your schedule so you can optimize your energy and attention. It isn't "time management" we are shooting for, it's "energy + attention management."
Here are the two steps to get started:
STEP 1- Map out your productivity cycles and start working in the flow of your energy, when you are most creative, most focused, and most relaxed. The lesson here is to know your weekly productivity flow and to go with it, not against it.
STEP 2-Break up your week into modules where all your business tasks can be scheduled. Business tasks include self-care; direct client time; planning; administration and marketing.
Attached is a worksheet I've created to map out weekly productivity. The next blog will share how to schedule your week so all your business tasks are handled.
Let me know if you have any questions: good luck!
